It is best to start the self-assessment when you are warm so after a bath or shower is great! You will need a handheld mirror, a full length mirror and a comb.

Step 2

Inspect your scalp by using a comb or hair dryer to easily part your hair. If you can, ask a friend or family member to help. Then check your nose, lips, mouth and ears — front and back. Don't forget to examine the inside of your mouth by looking at your tongue, lips, and inner cheeks.

All done! Lumps, sores, marks or moles may not be cancer, but if you have found anything that you are even slightly worried about, go see your Doctor for medical advice. Tip: Take a picture of anything you find so that you can compare between skin checks.
